Amidships Youth

    Safeguarding

Amidships Youth is a study tool for the basics and Day Skipper theory. It is run by The Maritime Consultancy Ltd, company 13436865, 172 Easterly Road, Leeds, LS8 3AD, United Kingdom.

    How young sailors join

A code is issued only after we check the club, Sea Cadet unit, Sea Scout group, school or sail-training charity. Sailors aged 13 to 17 can sign themselves up with that code. Accounts for under 13s are created by the group leader or a parent. There is no open signup.

    What the app is

Questions, quizzes and reading. There is no chat between sailors, no public profile, and no voice or AI tutor on a youth account. Leaders see nicknames for their own group, not a map and not a marketing list.

    Safeguarding lead

Daniel McDonnell, Director, is the safeguarding lead. Email daniel@themaritimeconsultancy.com. If a young sailor needs help, they can also talk to their group leader, a parent, or their school or unit.

    Partners

The group leader is the gatekeeper for their sailors. We will agree simple terms with each organisation before a code goes live. A partner is listed only with their written OK.
